We keep our fingers on the pulse of who’s moving where in the healthcare world, from small startups bringing in new leadership to big orgs trading seasoned execs. Each month, we highlight some of the major job changes in the healthcare sector.
Here’s a noncomprehensive roundup of the past month’s career shifts.

Bruce Broussard: Define Ventures, a San Francisco-based venture capital firm focused on health tech companies, announced on October 22 that the recent CEO and president of Humana had joined the firm as a venture partner.
David Epstein: Ottimo Pharma, a new private biotech startup jointly based in London and Boston, emerged from stealth and announced Epstein as its chair and CEO on October 28. Epstein previously served as CEO of Seagen from November 2022 until it was sold to Pfizer in December 2023.
Roger Farah: CVS’s chair of the board was elevated to executive chair, the company announced on October 18.
Thomas Fuchs: Eli Lilly named Fuchs as its first chief AI officer, effective October 21. He was previously dean and inaugural department chair for AI and human health at Mount Sinai in New York.
David Joyner: CVS Health announced on October 18 that CEO and President Karen Lynch had stepped down in agreement with the board. Effective October 17, Joyner was promoted to Lynch’s position from his role as EVP of CVS Health and president of CVS Caremark, the company’s pharmacy services business. He also joined CVS’s board of directors.
Paul Parker: Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Flagship Pioneering, a bioplatform venture capital company, announced on October 9 that Parker had become the firm’s third managing partner. Prior to his new role, Parker was a corporate officer and SVP of strategy and corporate development at Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Daniel Quirk: Biogen appointed the former Pfizer and Bristol-Myers Squibb exec as chief medical officer and head of medical affairs, effective October 28.
Michael Roaldi: Brooklyn, New York-based Cityblock Health, a healthcare provider for Medicaid and dually eligible beneficiaries, announced on October 9 that Roaldi had left his role as chief growth officer for UnitedHealthcare Community and State to become Cityblock’s president.
James Sabry: Roche’s former global head and EVP of pharma partnering has had a busy month. He became EVP and chief business officer of California-based BioMarin Pharmaceutical on October 7, and was also announced as nonexecutive board vice chair of Ottimo Pharma on October 28.
Mehdi Shahidi: Ottimo Pharma also announced this former Boehringer Ingelheim C-suite exec as its head of development and chief medical officer on October 28.
Jessica Shepherd: San Francisco-based telehealth platform Hims & Hers Health announced the ob-gyn as the inaugural chief medical officer of Hers on October 21.
Alvia Siddiqi: Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois named Siddiqi as chief medical officer on October 14. She previously served as chief medical officer for clinically integrated care at Advocate Aurora Health.
Jason Stenta: Walgreens named the former Optum exec as SVP and chief commercial officer on October 8.
Ivy Weng: Atlanta-based OMNY Health, a cross-industry data-sharing platform, announced on October 10 that Weng would become its first chief commercial officer. She was previously group VP of life sciences at technology platform company Komodo Health.
