CES—one of the biggest tech conferences in the US that brings together nearly 140,000 people—is coming up quickly. As usual, the conference has a designated digital health section, and yours truly will be on the ground in Las Vegas between January 6 and 10 to keep you posted on all you’ll need to know.

But in the meantime, we thought we could give you a little preview of what to expect—especially considering more than 19,000 industry attendees reported being interested in digital health programming under Consumer Technology Association (CTA)’s theme for this year, “The future of health,” according to René Quashie, VP of digital health at CTA, the organization that runs CES.

The planned conference programming covers a wide range of topics from artificial intelligence (AI) to digital therapeutics to workforce. Here’s what to expect for CES 2025.

Agenda highlights. A panel called “The future of health: Views from the top” will kick off digital health programming on January 8 with a discussion on challenges and opportunities—a discussion that Quashie hopes will resonate with providers, “given our increasing spend on healthcare and our continuing bad outcomes.”

Later that day, another talk, “Health AI in 2030,” will look at how artificial intelligence might change care delivery as well as address major industry challenges like workforce and the aging population.

Startups will also be showcased at CES this year as they have in past years.

One session called “Exploring diverse funding strategies for digital health startups” features five panelists, including a representative from the National Institute of Health’s National Institute of Aging, on January 7. Another called “Health AI startups: Innovating the future of healthcare” will get some stage time on January 8.

Other programming that guests (and readers of Healthcare Brew) can look forward to features wearables, digital therapeutics, personalized medicine, home care, and women’s health.

Expos. The healthcare industry will also have a presence at some of the conference’s expositions with booths where attendees can test out devices and speak with company representatives.

Nonprofit AARP will host an AgeTech collaborative booth on healthy aging and aging in place. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will have a booth focused on global health, poverty, and hunger, and an Abbott Laboratories booth will display some of the medical device company’s products in development, according to Quashie.

For the second year, there will also be a Digital Health Lounge, which will have additional programming, meeting spaces, and other resources, Quashie said.
